Here are some reflections from a few of the many volunteers, who have joined previous programs with FSGR-
My experience with FSGR was enriching and eye-opening.
I loved connecting with both the village community and fellow volunteers, and
learning about the challenges women and girls face in rural India.
The program was well-organised, and the team was
always supportive, making me feel welcomed and cared for. I especially enjoyed
the hands-on activities, like learning to make reusable pads, and I believe
these programs provide great opportunities for volunteers to actively
contribute their skills.

Life-changing experience, seeing the impact we can
have with small but meaningful contributions to the community. Ellen and Jiggy
gave us such an amazing cultural experience; everything was thoughtfully
planned and was so much fun.

I had a great experience with the FSGR menstrual
health program in India. The team were all dedicated to providing women and
girls with the resources they need and empowering girls in the communities.
From village work to cultural sightseeing, it was all
an amazing experience. I’m grateful for the opportunity to be able to
experience it.

My time with FSGR was incredibly meaningful and eye-opening.
Connecting with the local community and learning more about women’s health and
education in the villages was something I’ll carry with me forever.
Being part of work that empowers women and creates
positive change for future generations is so special. I’m so grateful for the
experience and the beautiful people I met along the way.

I attended the April 2025 FSGR program and couldn't
recommend it high enough to anyone considering experiencing volunteering in
India. It was my first time in India and Ellen, Jiggy & Bablu were very
welcoming and I felt very safe. Volunteering at the villages was both a
privilege and yet an eye opening experience. We saw first hand how a lack of
education and access to healthcare (coupled with traditional cultural beliefs)
can negatively impact village women. We met with partnering NGO's to gain a
better understanding of local challenges. We even got to make our own reusable
menstrual pads that we sewed by hand!
The program was perfectly structured. We were able to have a good amount of time in the village, sight seeing, shopping and of course eating our way around Udaipur. The facilities at the guesthouse is beautiful and clean, with a stunning rooftop that made the perfect place to wind down in the afternoon. Our personal chef Manjuji made the most beautiful authentic food every day for us and we were able to do a cooking class with her with our requested favourite foods. If you are someone who is looking to make a difference, see India and have great fun with a small group - this is the one for you!

Volunteering at FSGR in India was a life-changing experience. The foundation’s work in empowering women is truly inspiring. I loved being part of a team that is deeply committed to creating opportunities, building confidence, and supporting women to gain their independance in their communities. Jiggy, Ellen and Bablu were so welcoming from the day we got off the airplane to when we left. The projects were educational not only for the village community but myself as well, and I left with a heart full of gratitude and motivation. I highly recommend this foundation to anyone passionate about making a real difference and enjoying their volunteering.
